64-Bit Operating Systems

Additional steps may be required for installing TagIt software on a computer with a  Vista or Windows 7 64-bit operating system because 64-bit systems install 32-bit programs in a different program directory (in c:\program files (x86) instead of c:\program files).

Installation programs for TagIt, TagItLite, and TagIt Manager should create an icon with the correct path but will still require setting the compatibility mode to XP for TagIt or TagItLite or TagIt Manager.

If you receive error messages that the path is not correct, take a look at the instructions below to see if you can manually correct the path to Paradox 10 Runtime.

1.  Right click on the icon.  In this example the icon is for TagIt.  The same principle applied for TagItLite and TagIt Manager.

2.  Click on properties.

3.  The Properties form opens.  If it is not on the Shortcut tab, then click on Shortcut.  Changes may need to be made to the Target.  The target tells the computer where to find the Paradox 10 Runtime program and then which file to open to start TagIt (or TagItLite or TagIt Manager).

Carefully make the target that same as below for the correct program.  This involves adding the information in red below at the correct location if it is not already there.  Notice that this includes a space as well before (x86).  This assumes that the software was originally installed in the default location suggested by the installation program.

TagIt:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Paradox 10 Runtime\Programs\pdxrwn32.exe" "C:\Program Files (x86)\TagIt\TagItProg\mainform.fdl" -q -p "C:\Program Files (x86)\TagIt\Private"

TagItLite:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Paradox 10 Runtime\Programs\pdxrwn32.exe" "C:\Program Files (x86)\TagItLite\TLProg\mainform.fdl" -q -p "C:\Program Files (x86)\TagItLite\Private"

TagIt Manager:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Paradox 10 Runtime\Programs\pdxrwn32.exe" "C:\Program Files (x86)\TagItManager\TMProg\mainform.fdl" -q -p "C:\Program Files (x86)\TagItManager\Private"
