Instructions for Re-using Old
Data |
| |
| The normal installation of TagIt creates empty data files.
If you have previously installed and used TagIt, these data
files will be overwritten and your old data will be destroyed
when you reinstall the program unless you take additional
steps. |
| |
| If you have existing data and can use the TagIt program: |
| Go to the File menu and select Backup. Complete
the steps for backing up the data. Note the name and
location of the backup file. Copy that backup file to
flash memory or a backup disk. |
| Then install or re-install TagIt. Remember that this
requires two files as explained on the download page. Then
go to File menu and select restore. Follow the directions
to restore the data from the backup file you created. |
| |
| If you are not able to use TagIt to backup your data but
still have a copy of the TagIt data: |
| TagIt data is kept in the c:\program files\ tagit\tagitdata
folder. Copy all these data files to a flash drive or
backup disk. Install or reinstall TagIt as described.
Then copy all these data files back to c:\program files\tagit\tagitdata
or c:\program files (x86)\tagit\tagitdata (if you have a 64 bit
processor such as Windows 7) |
| |
| If your old data is no longer available on your computer
or a backup, it might still be possible to recover some data
if you had sent your data to a recent sale.
